German Films in Asia
Date: November 17 - 26, 2023
Since 2012 German Films is organizing the Festival of German Films in China together with the Goethe Institut Beijing. The official program of the 11th edition will be shown this year at the Goethe Institute in Beijing. In addition there is a special screening at the German Embassy School with German director Aelrun Goette.
The opening film of this years Festival of German Films in China will be WHEN WILL IT BE LIKE IT NEVER WAS BEFORE followed by live Q&A with director Sonja Heiss.

Since 2018 German Films is organizing Industry Screenings in Asia to present the newest German feature films and documentaries to buyers in Japan, China and South Korea. The latest Industry Screenings took place in March and April 2022 in Tokyo and Beijing and welcomed over 50 buyers from Japan and China. The event took place @Eurolive in Tokyo and @Broadway Cinema and was organized together with the Goethe Institut Tokyo and our foreign representative for China Anke Redl.
FILMART - Meet us under the European Film Promotion Umbrella
FILMART is one of the most important audiovisual trade fairs in Hong Kong and Asia one of key destinations for the export of European films.
Since 2011, EFP has been running EUROPE! UMBRELLAs for world sales companies and EFP members at Hong Kong's renowned and well-established film trade FILMART that takes place in March each year. Since 2020 FILMART is held online. As long-term supporter German Films is supporting the umbrella as well as the participation of German World Sales.
