German Films in South- & Central America
Date: 07-13 September 2023
Place: Cinepolis Cinemas Buenos Aires
Since 2000, the Argentine capital is hosting the Festival de Cine Alemàn every year in September. The festival shows in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Buenos Aires and the German Embassy a variety of new German cinema: feature, documentary, mid-length, and some shorts presenting the Next Generation Short Tiger Program.
In 2021, Christian Petzold's modern and slightly mythological romantic drama UNDINE was a hit with the audience at the opening in the Cinépolis Recoleta. In addition, the event received a very special honor this year by the city of Buenos Aires.
The German Film Week will take place this year from August 10th to 21st in Mexico City and will continue with a tour from September to November in other cities of the country.
