GERMAN FILMS AT THE OSCARS®

For the third year in a row, the German Entry for the Academy Awards® was nominated, so a delegation from German Films was in Los Angeles to supported all the German Oscar® nominees, who received nominations in different categories. Two days before the gala German Films held a reception to celebrate the team of THE SEED OF THE SACRED FIG by Mohammad Rasoulof, the team of SEPTEMBER 5 by Tim Fehlbaum, the team of CONCLAVE by Edward Berger, and VFX expert Gerd Nefzer who was nominated in the category Best Visual Effects for DUNE: PART TWO.

The Sofia International Film Festival took place from March 13 to 31, 2025. The “Sofia Meetings”, which were supported by German Films, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Connecting Cottbus and FilmFestival Cottbus, were held in parallel.

GERMAN FILMS AT CARTOON MOVIE BORDEAUX

The 27th edition of Cartoon Movie, the pitching and co-production forum, opened its doors in Bordeaux from March 4 to 6, 2025. It brought the whole of European creativity and diversity in animation to the screen and stage, with adventurous projects and passionate teams.

FIFTH EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL OF GERMAN FILMS IN ROME

In cooperation with the Goethe Institute and the German Embassy in Rome, the 5th edition of the Festival del Cinema Tedesco took place at Cinema Quattro Fontane from March 20 to 23, 2025. The opening film ANOTHER GERMAN TANK STORY was presented by the director himself Jannis Alexander.

Call for submissions: Golden Panda Awards
Organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the People's Government of Sichuan Province, the Gold Panda Awards is an international cultural award for promoting humanistic exchanges and encouraging dialogues through film and television productions with the giant panda as a cultural symbol. This year's event will feature four categories: Film, TV Drama, Documentary, and Animation. It seeks submissions of outstanding film and television works that have been or will be broadcast, released, or screened in one or more countries (regions) between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2025. FEST – Pitching Forum is an international competition for film projects and a key event for financing and co-production. It focuses on providing opportunities for project development, funding, support, and co-production. The Pitching Forum is divided into two phases: Training Sessions (June 24–26, 2025) – Held exclusively in person in Espinho, Portugal, for representatives of the selected projects. Final Pitch Sessions (June 27–28, 2025) – Conducted both in person (Espinho, Portugal) and online. FEST – Pitching Forum is accepting submissions in the following categories:
