German Films at the Marché du Film Online (22 – 26 June 2020)

2020 marks a first for the Festival de Cannes: Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Festival had to cancel this year’s festival edition and took the unprecedented step to launch the Marché du Film Online. The online market is intended to mimic the market experience in Cannes to offer creative alternatives to facilitate business and networking for international film industry professionals.

Virtual German Pavilion
German Films will showcase German films and co-productions in the virtual German Pavilion aiming to increase the visibility of the German industry and German film production within the market. Just like the physical pavilion, its virtual equivalent will serve as an information and orientation center for Marché participants interested in German films, co-producing with Germany and shooting in Germany.

The Virtual German Pavilion is an initiative of German Films, in close cooperation with Focus Germany, the umbrella organization of the eight largest German regional film funds, and the German Federal Film Board (FFA).

Complementary to highlighting German productions and co-productions in the pavilion with special sections for film funding, film commissions, short film, animation and documentaries there will be additional features:

2 Virtual Cinemas: GERMAN FILMS KINOS
